About the Project

This is a redesign of my previous work for the Marching 'Canes. It is based on a similar black & gold color scheme for the official Citrus High School colors. My main goal when redesigning this site was to maintain most of the previous structure while giving everything a Web 2.0 overhaul. A secondary goal was to give the band director a resource database in which he could upload PDF documents for his band members to download whenever convenient.

The redesigned CHS Marching 'Canes website is written in XHTML & CSS with PHP & MySQL server-side code. Some effects, such as drop-shadows and rounded corners, use CSS 3.0, webkit and mozkit techniques to enchance the browsing experience in newer browsers without adding any load-time that comes with the addition of an abundance of images. There are also some custom Javascripts written with JQuery for some dynamic aesthetic effects.
